Scranton, PA – April 6, 2026 – Fidelity Bank awarded Outreach – Center for Community Resources $15,000 to support K through 12 STEAM programming through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program.
Outreach provides after-school STEM activities to elementary-aged children residing at the Skyview Park Apartment Complex in Scranton. During the school year, Outreach staff provide twice-weekly STEAM activities that advance classroom learning. These lessons challenge students to think critically and problem-solve as they apply to real-world experiences.
This funding also supports Outreach’s Young Adult Center, which serves justice-involved youth ages 14 to 18 with STEAM and workforce development programming. Students work with Outreach case managers to explore career pathways and develop marketable skills to secure employment. Outreach utilizes CareerLabsVR, a virtual reality software that provides a hands-on look at in-demand industries.
Last year, Outreach’s Skyview STEAM Program served more than 80 students. While the Young Adult Center helped 19 stay enrolled in high school, 5 graduated from high school, and 14 gained employment.
Fidelity Bank’s support will allow Outreach to continue serving this underserved population and further Outreach’s mission of family stability and economic self-sufficiency.
